Matt Tomasino works as a professional freelance writer based out of New York City. He prides himself on writing with a direct, informative tone backed by valid, thought provoking research.
Matt's areas of expertise in nutrition come from working as a licensed massage therapist graduated from the esteemed New York City Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences where he was educated in the many aspects of anatomy, physiology and pathology.
Matt also runs his own Touch Therapy program at two assisted living facilities where he attempts to reduce touch depravation amongst the elderly, particularly those suffering with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. He does this by gently working specific points as well as administering aromatherapy to either stimulate or calm many challenging age related symptoms.
Working in the field of massage, Matt has been able to study the many pros and cons of how nutrition directly affects the mind, body and spirit. How simple dietary adjustments can reap great rewards and how, by simply changing one’s culturally embedded nutritional habits, one can break the chains of unhealthy eating.
Matt also ghostwrites about clinical nutrition, botanical medicine, acupuncture, detoxification, environmental medicine, homeopathy and nutraceutical supplementation for the blog of a naturopathic doctor’s website as well as a daily health alert site at: www.intmedsolutions.com/blog and www.dailyhealthalerts.com
Matt, his wife and two children are all strict, lifelong vegetarians.
Other hats that Matt wears which only add fuel to his writing engine are many.
He works throughout the island of Manhattan as a licensed process server for a small landlord/tenant attorney. This is the delicate ‘art’ of serving legal documents on commercial and residential tenants that are not paying their rent. Performed with as much compassion as possible, Matt continues to experience a wide range of unique experiences during his time serving papers that include everything from unexpected comedic moments to heartbreaking scenarios. It is a job that can harden and humble just about anyone.
He received his BFA from Ithaca College, Ithaca, NY and quickly became a union affiliated actor (SAG/AFTRA/AEA) who still auditions and books commercials, television, film and stage roles as well as lifestyle modeling jobs.
Matt is also a professional musician playing drums and percussion for a local, original band influenced by the likes of jazz, rock and blues. He considers music to be one of the major influential factors in his life.
